Meditation

 

What does the word 'Meditation' mean to you?​

Simply sitting watching the birds, doing some gentle gardening, or some mindful walking, being in silence concentrating on within, doing Yoga, focusing on the breath, listening to music, dancing intuitively or following a specific technique?​

In a nutshell, the idea of meditation is to try and dis-connect from an overactive mind, focus on something more simple and align with your sub-conscious. This activates your parasympathetic system and enables the body to relax and be at peace 'Holistically' - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Practiced regularly, your heath will improve and you will navigate through your life with more ease. ​

There are many types of stresses in our modern world - environmental, emotional, mental, physical trauma, spiritual attacks.  A lot of it is sub-conscious, therefore we don't realise how much we absorb.

Unless we adapt a 'mindful' approach to our daily lives (which allows us to release these stresses in a healthy way) our body builds up the tension until it can't cope anymore. This results in mental illness, outburts of anger, dis-ease in the body, violence etc​​

In summary - it is very important to add some kind of mindful practice into our daily lives, to help find balance and inner peace. 

 

My meditation sessions are for approximately 1 hour (maybe a little more) Each one is a tailor-made, guided journey of self discovery, deep relaxation and some time for reflection.

...pen and paper, glass of water, shoes off, tissues, turn off any other phones/technology/outside distractions as much as possible

Check List After...

...write down any thoughts and feelings from your meditation, drink water and ground yourself before continuing with any activities
